This began when I migrated from Exchange 5.5 to 2000. I have Outlook 2000 and 2002 with current SPs.

My issue begins with 'Tools'>'Services', click once on Exchange server and select 'properties', go to 'Advanced'>'Add' an additional mailbox. At this point I am unable to Add any data into the dotted box which appears when I click into the dialog box and when I try by using the Add button I receive the message, "Name could not be resolved. Action could not be completed."

p.s. Since this feature was available before migration, open Other's just doesn't make it in this workplace.

Does the check name feature have the same problem or is the problem strictly just with the Add Mailbox function? joegz

Thanks for the followup.

The Add Mailbox function is the problem. Since the migration, I can't get to the Check Name option. And this is with some but not all PCs. My associate has "fixed" the problem by copying registry settings from functioning PCs reg to non-functioning PCs but of course this overrights settings that the user has customized like shortcuts to the Outlook bar, etc., creating the problem of unhappy users.

Users who cannot use the Services>....Add feature can File>Open>OpenOthers'Folders to access Mailboxes and Calendars but this is not the way they prefer to manage.
