Hello friends!

I am struggling with setting up a web site on my W2K sever using IIS5.0.

After setting up IIS and DNS for mydomain.com, when attempting to access it locally, my get my router logon dialog box. If I use the local machine IP address, I get the site.

From the outside, I get the site by using the full URL without a problem. I have two other sites in same machine. I guess it is worth mentioning that they are all under a single IP address (static).

I hate this, I cannot do any development as my links do not work from work station nor from server itself and I cannot develop from outside.

Please help! If you need more specific information let me know, I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.

Thank you all in advance;

Jose Lerebours

Hi, you will need to use host headers for each of the websites on your IIS box. Then you will have to add these and the internal ip address of your IIS box to the host file in your windows directory

You could also Put an A record on your internal DNS SERVER pointing to your web servers internal address.

That's how I did it.

How goes it blixx?

Thanks for replying! I managed to access site locally using the full URL but, also managed to shut it down from the outside - I just went the total opposite.

I have DNS server pointing to my web local server which is how the other two sites are set ... I just can't get this one right no matter what I try.

Thanks;
