Hi. I need help with a Samba authorization problem.
I have installed and configured Samba to authorize using
smbpasswd. When I try to connect through a windows machine,
I get the following error:

The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occured:The account is not authorized
from this station

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does your Samba username and password exactly match your Windows username and password? What happens when you try to map the drive manually?

I have created a user account on one of the window machines that matches /etc/passwd and smbpasswd on the unix Samba server. I am trying to map the drive remotely. I am able to ping the Samba server, but not map the samba share. The windows computer I'm trying to connect from is in a different domain but the same subnet. Should this matter?
