We have a BCM 400 3.7 our service contractors replaced the motherboard tray because of bad caps. Since doing the service the voicemail is workig which is great but we still can not do programming to BCM. I notice that I can still ping the correct ip address. Help BCM world?

Just changing the BFT shouldn't have changed anything.

What can you do?

Do you get the main menu?

Can you telnet in?

Are you trying to access at the LAN ports on the front of the BCM or from your Local LAN?

If from the LAN ports on the front, you need to use a crossover cable to access.

not sure how to use the serial port or what will happen once I get in, but we been trying to use the front Lan ports and nothing happens. We have accessed Lan 2 before the problems sarted to doing daily configurations and have changed the ip address to 10.20.2.10. But once again I can not get in using IE. Also one thing I notice is that I have no led lights on the top left tray (Primary & etc).

You only get those LED's if you have dual hard drives and you would want them to be Green not red.

Is your Laptop LAN port set so it can get to 10.20.2.10??

At the start menu click run and on the address bar put in CMD and click run. you should get a DOS window TYPE IPCONFIG and this will tell you the IP of your Laptop, it must be in the same group, only the last number can be different.

Again if you are connecting directly to the front LAN ports you must use a crossover cable or it won't work.

acewarlock, thanks but my laptop setting is correct. What I like to do is set my internet protocol to the same ip address as the BCM so that I will get an ip conflict which will guarantee me that I have the corrct ip address. And yes a cross over cable is a must. But not sure why I can not get in as usually.

only the message from IE that the search can not be displayed.

Have you tryed lan 1. And are the ststus lights for lan1 and lan2 lit.

they are lit on both 1 & 2, whenever I use them each. When use 1 and then pull the cross cable from the port it stays lit for maybe 30 sec. then go away, now the same for port 2. Not sure if that is normal or I got a problem.

LAN 1 default - 10.10.10.1/255.255.255.0
LAN 2 default - 10.10.11.1/255.255.255.0

You can try dialing in via the modem and attach to 10.10.14.1 if you wish.

acewarlock, you are the man! 10.20.2.10:6800 was the correct address of lan 1. Thanks everyone! closed
