Restored data via Veritas 8.6 onto Windows 2003 Server. When I went to remove the encyption attribute it removed it off the folder but I'm unable to access any file as they are encrypted (listed in green) and get "access denied" When I try and take ownership of them.

Any takers?

Did you back up the private key that encrypted the files?

Or...

Are you logged on as a designated recovery agent?

yep was logged on as the admin recovery agent and loaded the snap in to check.

Also attempted to run command line prompt recovery command.

Found a tape and restored it restored with no encryption...

Problem solved. Thanks for your interest .
