Cancelling scheduled jobs

Morning folks

Can anyone tell me how to cancel a scheduled job. I want to be able to cancel the job without having to delete it, I know that jobs can be put on 'hold' but then at some point they have to be released from hold and this starts the job. I want to be able to cancel the job without deleting the schedule.

Maybe I am missing something really obvious, any help appreciated as always

If you double-click on the scheduled job in the Activity Monitor, you'll receive the Schedule Options. Here you can change the effective date and time of the job, so you can reschedule without having to delete the schedule and create a new one.
If you're using version 8.0 or higher, you also have Advanced Scheduling Options, where you can exclude certain dates (i.e. Bank Holiday), set the effective time & date, include certain days, ...
