anyone know ? If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

If you connect to the Net using AOL, minimise it and open IE or netscape. Assuming they have been configured you can just use them like normal.

IE works fine (well, it does on one I tested), but I have never tried Netscape.

I don't know about version 5 or 6? I can only assume yes?
I'm still using AOL 4.0, and it works fine with I.E. 5 and Netscape 4.75

Once you connect with AOL, you can just open up either IE or Netscape and browse as normal.

If you're browsing through AOL, I think IE is still the default browser and cant be changed.

I use AOL v6.0 and have tested it with IE v5.2 and Netscape v4.72 and v6.0, AOL installs IE as it's browser on setup. AOL has owned Netscape for some time now, so AOL should work semelessly with both browsers.
To answer the question, you need to minimize AOL to use the Netscape browser, you do not need to start IE, AOL automatically opens it when you type a URL in the Address window.
