I can get my hands on a server that was used by a financial institution, they want $10 for it....as they are revamping their systems. Can I use a OS on this server, and maybe even install my current HD in it? Also 19" monitors (Flat) $10......... deal or what....... :)

Thanks for the help

Chris.

Generally machines built and marketed as servers have better quality parts than the generic computers in the mass market. So yes, you can use it. But servers don't always have the latest and greatest hardware so you might not be able to load the lastest whiz-bang windows on it.
There is a good chance your hard drive won't go on it directly, servers also can come with SCSI I/O stuff and mass market is generally IDE.
But who knows, and the price is right. A floppy costs that much. Ed Fair

it will have a good processor and all but no bays. if it is in a server case. it will most likely have a door on front knowledge is power, spread the power

I checked out the server today... it's looks to be about 15 years old........ oh well no go for that.... too old.
