can you set up exchange so if someone sends an e-mail to say "anything before the@"@yourdomain.com then it will be delivered to the account its been set up for???

I tried adding internet mail with new address *@yourdomain.com and also just @yourdomain.com but it didnt work.

Can you explain a bit more on what you mean ?

If you want user1 to have an address of say user55@yourdomain.com then just set that up in the SMTP address for the user - wild carding doesn't work - found that out when we started on exchange here.

yeah i found that out now as well. According to the ISP you can do it with pop3...

Depending on what you mean you can either set the administrator account to forward all errant 'unknown user' mail to a specified address and then forward it on to individuals from there, I do this with spelling mistakes etc, or simply open the account for the recipient and add whatever name you want as an internet mail address.

i did that too but unfortunately the message sender recieves an undeliverable message so they think it didnt work.

Ok I think I have your solution, if you go to your internet mail connector and click the internet mail tab then click the notification button next to the change button.
Make sure that the top box is checked, restart the mail service.
Try sending from an outside account to a made up name and the administrator should recieve it as undeliverable with no kick back to the sender, you can do what you want with it from here.

I tried this for both check boxes, I only recived kick backs on the bottom check box.
