Is ther a way to reset the IP address of hte Call Pilot without knowing hte exist address. We can not access the browser because some one has change the default IP address.
You need to connect the callpilot to a PC via serial cable, then open hyperterminal and reboot the callpilot .. as it boots, if you watch carefully, it will (eventually) give you the IP address it is currently set-at. Then you can connect a PC direct to it, via x-over cable, put ure PC in the same IP range as the callpilot, login, and change the IP ..
There are more detailed instructions if u search this forum some more.. (Lots of instructions actually, u need the hyperterminal settings, I don't remember by heart)
Hyperterminal settings are 9600 8N1 another option is to reboot and watch the boot process and enter M ...then you will be prompted to change the IP... default is 192.168.110.10 but could have been changed.
I was looking for a way to retrieve the ip address via the cross over cable as well but so far the only solution i have is to use the serial connection and go through hyper terminal. When the prompt comes up that says something like "press any key within 2 seconds" press a button. Then you will be asked if you want a lan interface, hit (Press Y for yes). Then you will see the IP address. To change it, simply put in the new address next to it. Obviously it has to follow the same format as the ip your computer is using.
I am currently trying to change the ip address of my call pilot system via serial port. I followed the instructions & set all the hyperterminal setting correctly. During the boot-up process all that shows up are random characters.
