Can you mute the handset mic on a 7310 on a MICS w/DR3.0?

Got a customer who wants to mute the handset for conference calls since she can't use the speakerphone mode (she works in a cube farm).

Can this be done? If so, how would I program it?

Not that I know of. She should place the call on hold- and maybe set MOH to silence if she doesn't want the caller to know they're on hold.

Mute is for Handsfree only.

Not in programming but you can get third party handsets that have mute/volume controls.

Algo have muting handsets but I think they mute with a button pressed only. You could ask them.

Not what you are asking, but another option is Group Listening F802, she an use the handset and mute.

mute is for both handsfree and headset
just use a headset connected to the headset jack in back (the middle one) and then press the handsfree jack to activate the headset and press it again to mute the headset mike, one mor time will un-mute it. rls to drop the call. there is a built in headset amp in the 7310 so go to

and follow the questionaire, when you get to the individual headsets click check compatability and put in nortel and M7310 and you will get a list of compatable headsets. hello direct I think has a similar setup.

They were asking about a handset specifically, but a headset's a good idea.
Less complicated, and their customer probably wouldn't mind having one, anyway.

Yea, the headset has some wierd issues but I find it is better than a handset any day.
