I have created a quick report for a customer using a Data Link Provider for SQL. I compile the report and create a distibution install. It runs fine on another client as long as I want to look at the server on my machine. If I try to change the database or the server I am looking at then it will not work. Can this be done in crystal. Am I using the wrong date connection method. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is there a way to save the password also. The Data Link connection I am using is saving the password but it still requires me to type the password every time

I created a UDL file to use as my Data Link Properties but it looks like Crystal is just importing this info and not using the file. Is there a way to force it to use the UDL file instead of importing the information or do I have something setup wrong

Passwords are not saved in the reports as a matter of security.

You might also do better to build the report off a System SN and have the client System DSN point to the database.

The report will store the DSN name and user ID. Much easier that messing around with other files.

Make sure the DSN names are the same on the dev machine and the client(s).

Cheers
