I have a company network with DHCP and a local network with static address. Can I run both at the same time on my laptop? I would use a usb and my Type II slot. what do you think? The two networks are total seperate.

If you are using two network cards, you should be able to connect to both networks. However it is possible that the company network has a policy set up to block access to some or all network resources if it detects a second network connection. You would have to check with the system administrator, or set it up and do a test to make sure. Make sure you set the right network card up for the local connection so you don't accidentally take yourself off the company network and become unable to log into the computer.
