Hello all, great site and help you have here.

I'm new to configuring callmanager, so please excuse any ignorance.

I'm working to connect an open-source fax server/modem to a VG248 analog port registered to callmanager.

I would like to route the received faxes to email addresses based on the called number.

The fax calls will come in through 2 PRI's and DID's. Can someone assist me with whether callmanager can or will pass the DNIS information to the modem for such a purpose?

Thank you.

Those are analog FXS ports. They can pass caller ID but not DNIS. Those terminate at the PRI level(in router) and then make a routing decision.
So no matter how many DID's you point to those FXS ports the outcome will be the same. FAX server will answer but will receive no info.
You will have to do a T1 connection to the fax server to support what you need. Or an analog DID card possibly but have never done it that way in the CISCO world. And your server would have to have the appropriate card to support either a digital circuit or analog DID's

Thanks whykap for the information.

One additional question:

Does any of the digit information from the telco make it to callmanager at all since the individual extensions are registered with it? What I'm trying to determine is if this called number information would be included at all in the callmanager CDR?

Thanks again.
