can u set permissions based on workgroup computers?

i have 4 computers on a lan all access the web thru an ethernet/router attached to a cable modem. each computer in the workgroup (say mshome) have their own name natch. but i use the same name on all computers. what i try to do in permissions is set permissions on computer2 as \computer1\myname but i't not allowed.
i want to allow myself access to each computer on the lan no matter what computer i'm at and restrict others to what ever permissions i set or none.
i'e tried booting into safe mode with networking and although i can access the computers under permissions these remote computers in the same work group are not shown so althiugh i can setup myname i can not setup \computer\myname.
any help is appreciated. thank you

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do - but if you set up the same users (ie, user id, password, level of access) on each machine, you effectively have a global policy (eg, yourself as masteruser/password, administrator on all machines, then user1-n/password,restricted user or whatever on all machines etc). You'll need to disable simplified sharing also (and I'm assuming you're using NTFS - otherwise file & folder security won't work). Then you can set security & sharing permissions (for drives, folders and printers) on each machine appropriate for each of the other users

well, im bedriden and have plenty of time on my hands(except now my hands don' work) so i do alot of experimenting and screwing arund hardware &software.
i wanted 2 see if iu could isolater all my pc's in my network so i could allow a specific user on a specific machine in my workgroup to have access to certain dirs or files on a machine in the wgroup but only if that user was using the specific machine i designated. so i wanted to set permissions based on a particular machine even when the users name was the same on all machines..
i really thought u could/can setup permissions based on the maschine name/user name but hsven't figured out how as of yet.
being so ill i'm way behind so u will probably see 4-6 msgs from me right quick on some of the unresolved issues i had prior to my last bout with hospitals.
i appreciate the help\ and info.
