Hi All,
Can the include_list be a soft-link to a file containing the filenames of files to be backed up?
For e.g.
cd /usr/openv/netbackup/
ls -al include_list.Backup_Class
include_list.Backup_Class -> ./oracle/include_orafiles.lis
We recently observed that the files backed up are not the one that we specified. For e.g., in the NetBackup GUI on the master server, we would specify "/*" in the "Files" entry of the backup class named, for e.g. "Backup_Class".
Then on the client side, in the /usr/openv/netbackup/ the exclude_list.Backup_Class would contain "/*". For the include_list.Backup_Class on the client side, we create it as a soft-link to the actual file (include_orafiles.lis) containing the list of files to be backed up.
The files backed up is not the ones that we wanted. Is this because of the soft-link?
We also tried removing the soft-link and made a copy of the include_orafiles to the /usr/openv/netbackup/include_list.Backup_Class. Again, the backed up files were not what we wanted.
The backup was only successful when we removed the exclude_list.Backup_Class and the include_list.Backup_Class in the /usr/openv/netbackup/ directory and placed the list of files to be backed up in the NetBackup GUI's "Files" entry for the Backup_Class.
Any take on this?
Regards,
Kevin
