Now, reboot. How are things working?

well i did that...and so far (only after a few minutes), everything seems to be the same. i was infected with wormsobig so im not sure how that is affecting my computer. dont know if that helps or not but thanks for ur assistance

By the way...if you're not disabling system restore before you perform these removals, you're only going to be reinfected...BE SURE you disable this first.

you know what, i already did all that and i dont get sent those stupid emails anymore but the computer still has never been the same since that. i dont get any of those dumb pop-ups anymore either but the computer is slower than it used to be. do u think i have a different problem?

Scan and post a new Hijack This! log and we'll have a look...

Ok. You've still got problems.

First, disable system restore.
If not sure how to, go here:

Now, download and use SpyBot from here:
(Use the built-in update function before scanning, for good measure).

Now, run Hijack This again.

If any of the following are still there, remove them using Hijack This!:

Reboot.

well i am nervous about disabling system restore b/c last time i had a hard time getting it back up.

Its a matter of checking/unchecking the box. I'm not sure why you'd be having difficulties getting it restarted.
On an XP system, if you perform spyware/malware/virus/trojan removal steps with system restore on, you're only going to get the same problems recurring on the p.

Peache781

You also seem to be running IE6. I would go to WindowsUpdate and upgrade to IE6 SP1 (that's IE version 6.00.2800.1106) and then apply the latest fixes to it.
