Can someone recommend me a good book? 1

Sharepoint server 2007. A book for a complete Sharepoint novice, not a MS one written by a robot, but one which is easy and interesting to read would be nice

I'm tempted by the first one below...

I would not recomend the latter as the documentation it out of date. Microsoft are releasing in April 2008 full documentation for the SDK , so i am waiting for a book after that.

Thanks for that link, I hadn't considered safari, no.

I had a look at the search inside Mastering Windows Sharepoint 3.0 on Amazon, - looks good to me, plus it states that the book is written for admins, which is what I am (not a developer), so I'll go for that - thanks very much.

Big thumbs up for Safari Bookshelf. I use it all the time and it's especially helpful for getting into the content of one of those $40 books that might or might not have what you need, or when you just need one chapter of a much larger book. Definitely worth the subscription cost.

Pilothouse consulting has a pretty good training DVD on sharepoint 2007 for Administration and Development

I hadn't used Safari before I read this post, it is excellent, and they also have a complete video instructions for a sharepoint administrator, I found it even better than the pilothouse series.
