Can someone help with oracle 8i??

Hi,

I use JDBC connect to database of Oracle8i personnel version. It shows

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

But it worked yesterday. Please help!

What changed between Yesterday and today?

It sounds to me like the database is not running.

Did the machine get shutdown/rebooted? Are the Oracle services running? (Microsoft environment)

What environment is the database in?

Did you set your local environment for the right ORACLE_SID?
