I am new to netware. I have noticed that on my W2K client my deleted files are restored everytime I logged off and then back on. Do I need to purge the files everytime to really delete them? If that is so what is the best way to do it? I read something about setting auto purge, can some one clarify that for me or point me to some readings? I noticed a msg saying my roaming profile cannot be updated on log off, is that a real problem?

I'm not sure about files reappearing after logout/login, does not happen on my W2k clients. Files that have been deleted should only come back after a salvage.

On the autopurge, I use a combination of two utilities, cron.nlm (which is standard with Netware 5.1 I think, you just have to load it) and toolbox.nlm (which you will have to find/buy on the web). Cron allows you to schedule console commands and toolbox allows you to purge from the console, put them together and you can schedule a regular purge of your volumes.
