Can Shrink does not work 1

When set to yes 'Can Shrink' works on a report created using the Wizard, but does not work on a report I have created without the wizard.
I have tried setting all the controls to Can Shrink yes, and setting the section to Can Shrink yes, as it was suggested to someone else, but this does not work.
What else should I be doing?
I am using Access 2000.

I've had a problem with this when there was a vertical overlap between an empty, shrinkable field with one that either wasn't empty or wasn't shrinkable. Make sure there is not even the slightest overlap anywhere. Also, if you have a horizontal line at the bottom of the section, it will prevent the section from shrinking.

If that doesn't help, email your database to me at handlbar805@hotmail.com and I'll take a look. There's got to be something in there that isn't shrinkable. Rick Sprague

On close inspection there was some vertical overlap. All is working as expected now.
