Hi,
We are a small business and use SBS 4.5, which includes MS Exchange 5.5. Our email has been down for around 3 days now. It all began when our webhosting company upgraded their service. From reading a few of the other forums I have garnered this information:
1) Our web hosting company "Jumpline.com" is hosting our DNS.
2) I have submitted 3 separate support requests asking them to update our MX Record so that it will reflect our mail server's IP address (I cannot talk to anyone there directly since they have shut off their phones due to high call volume... or some other B.S.)
My question is this:
"Should the MX Record reflect the IP Address of our mail server or should it reflect the address of our Cisco Router? Because, if it is supposed to reflect the address of the router I have been giving them the wrong IP this whole time. (I've been giving them our mail server IP and name for the MX Record)"
If I have been doing everything right so far then my next option is to switch hosting companies since I cannot get in touch with anyone at the company except by emailing them support requests. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
