We have lost the primary file group (the .mdf file) of a single file group database but we have the original transaction log, as it stood at the time the primary file got clobbered, in its entirety. We have a complete backup of the entire database from about a week ago. I know I can restore the database to where it was at the time of the last complete backup. Is there any way, though, to restore the database to the point it was at the time that the primary file group got deleted, given the files we have?
