Hello,

I am using a Windows 98 computer to connect to a Windows 2000 server through a LAN. I can ping the server, and it can ping my Win98 computer but I am unable to connect to the server from the computer. What seems stranger still is that I can access the shared hard drive on the computer from the server, but it dosen't seem to work the other direction. I have checked the wiring, NIC, IP addresses and all seem to be in order. Any help you all could give me would be greatly appreciated :)

. check that you Domain Name is correct;
. check that Nebios over TCP/IP is enabled;
. check that your Win9x username and password are identical to the entries on the Server;
. If under AD, remove the machine account, wait 15 minutes, and re-add the machine account.

Thanks for the help, but I think I figured it out. I reboted and reset the hub and router and that seemed to fix it. Probably should have started out with that, but it just seemed too easy :) Thanks for the feedback!
