I'm attempting to use Outlook 2000 rules to manage incoming SPAM messages. I've setup a rule to check for certain verbage in the body of the message but if the message is in HTML format it doesn't see it. Is this a limitation of the rules or is there a way to see HTML text?

Thanks

Yes outlook's rules can check html text in the body of the message. Are you sure the message actually contains that text? Some html spam messages are merely embedded links to content on the web - in which case the text may not actually be in the message. View the actual html code for the message - is the text actually in there?

The text is definitely in the HTML source. I use copy-paste to take the text from the message and insert it in the rule, just to make sure I don't make any typo's or miss something.

I notice that the text is in the cells of a table. Could that be the reason it's not found?

Well, I just sent myself a webpage that contains tables and created a rule to search for a word in the table and the rule worked. So it still seems to work in a table. Using Outlook 2002, by the way. I'm not sure what to tell you. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this.
