can not start listner and database please help

hi all ,

i am not able to start database and listner as well , please see below and suggest me what to do ?

SQL> startup
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
SQL> connect sys as sysdba
Enter password:
Connected to an idle instance.
SQL> startup
ORA-07217: sltln: environment variable cannot be evaluated.
SQL>
SQL> exit
Disconnected
$ lsnrctl start

check your environment variables,
at least ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

now i can start listner but getting some error as below ,database is also UP now

I can't see an error in your post ...
(except for 'status UNKNOWN', but this should be a minor problem.)
