Have a Mitel 3300 system. I followed these directions to send calls to a cell number.

1. Created a regular DID number on the system 16778
2. Created a _EHDU Hotdesk number on the system 167*78
3. Set the Hot Desk number to dial the cell number, also put in 9 to dial out
4. Created a key on the 5330 desk phone
label CELL ON
Personal presence
167*78

When I press the soft key labeled Cell On, it says invalid and does not dial the cell

Thanks

Use the Maintenance command - Locate Feature Extension 167*78

Is the EDHU logged in?

If not, you either have to log it in or set the COS option for permanent login

Was able to do this and set COS option to permanent login. When I dial from the inside, it rings three times then it will dial the cell phone. If I call from the outside it does not go to the cell. It rings three times then goes to voice mail.

I would like both calls inside and out to go straight to the cell after one ring. What am I not doing?

Thanks

I suspect you are using forwarding on the desk set.

Did you set up a personal ring group associated with the desk set and add the EDHU as a member?

Also, you should have a different Call Fwd No Answer timer for the EDHU to allow more rings. When it is enabled, the longer timer will apply

can you dial the EHDU directory number itself? It should ring to the cell phone if you can. If it doesn't, look at the display and note what it says.

Agree with kwb,

I believe you have missed the step of using a Personal Ring Group with the Desk and EHDU.
Personal Presence make the DN absent/present within it's PRG. It does not ring the EHDU.
