Hi all,
my current setup is a SUN E450 server connected to a Storage Tek L700 library with 384 tape slots.
i just found out this last week, if i put a new tape with the new label eg. STK455, it can not register to the slot after inventory, just shown a asterik sign there....but the number before this have no problem, STK000-STK454...
anyone encounter the same situation as mine??

Have you checked how many tapes your jukebox is licensed for?

Thanks TDun.
I did not know that there is a license for the tapes, how am I going to check it??

I've had it happen to me ...but all I did was an:

nsrjb -L -S(slot number) to retry the relabeling and most
of the time it works if not I would try another tape(maybe
bad tape) the reason the * is there is there was a problem
in the labeling so try the nsrjb command above if it works
fine...if not try new tape with same bar code label
