Hey there jdavis37, what O.S are U using to begin with????
"So I took the roll and ate it; In my mouth it was sweet as honey but in my belly it was bitter as wormwood"
I'm having the same problem, I was runnung w98 on one machine , and when I upgraded, it stoped turning off automaticly, on my other machine when I up graded it continued to shutdown, whats up with that.
I've had the same problem on my windows 2000 machine. It turned out to be a problem with EasyCD Creator. EasyCD creator loads a background program and puts it in the taskbar. I believe it's called DirectCD...but not exactly sure. Anyhow, if you have installed EasyCD creator, you might want to get rid of DirectCD which also puts an entry in the registry that you must delete. I believe it's under HKEY->Local Machine->Software->EasyCD Creator and there are 2 entries you have to delete.
If it turns out that you don't use EasyCD creator, you might just need to make some adjustments under the Power settings on your machine. Right click the desktop, go to properties, screensaver tab, and then power..., you should be able to select how you want your computer turned off.
I have the EasyCD Creator 5.0 on my system and my computer do not shutdown. If I delete DirectCD will that effect the function of the EasyCD Creator which do have a function for DirectCD.
