Can not open Excel 2002 spreadsheet with Excel 2003

I just got a new dell machine running WindowsXP Office 2003 When I try to access a machine on my network running windows98 and Office2002 I get a blank excel screen the document never opens. I copy and paste it the XP machine I can open the document fine.

I had to install Office 2002 on the ne PC to replace Office 2003 now the files open with no problems. If anyone has any information on this Occie 2003 problem please let me know.

It sounds as if the converters within the application either aren't working or aren't loaded. Reinstall the XP Office software on the new Dell and make sure the built-in converters are being installed.
