can not change color depth

I am not able to fix the color depth on desktop it tells me that it has to run on 256 or higher so I go in click 256 click apply and reset pc and it comes back the same evryting looks like a negitive picture i have done evrything i can think of.if anyone could help me with this thanks

What type of deskpro is it and have you downloaded the latest drivers from the Compaq/HP website? -----------------------------------------------------

If you are using PC anywhere, uninstall it and update the compaq supportpaq and update the video driver. Then reboot and install PCanywhere.

If you are not using PC anywhere, then just update the video driver.

By the way what machine are you using?
