Hi
I am trying to boot my Octane with Irix 6.5 and am getting a message that says: dksc0d1s0 (mount) ran out of disk space

I believe this is my boot drive and someone has written a file that has filled the drive right up. I can get into a maintenance console but am not sure how to go about clearing up space.

any help would be greatly appreciated

From the Maintenance Menu:
Select option to “Enter Command Monitor”
At Command Monitor Prompt type:
>> single <cr>

The system will begin to boot Unix to “Single-User” mode.
You will be prompted to enter the “root” password.
If you don’t have it, you cannot get in.
After you provide the root password, you will be prompted with:
TERM = ( some value)
Hit a carriage return.
Now you’re at Single-User mode as root.
Execute Unix commands to clean up as necessary…
When you are done, type “multi <cr>” to get back to Multi-User mode.
(An alternative is to type “reboot” to reboot the workstation.)
