Can Multicast traffic move across VLAN's

I have one VLAN that has multicast, and plan to add new vlan's. Wanted to know if the multicast traffic will go across VLAN's and if I need to do anything.
 
No. Multicast traffic will not cross VLAN's. Unless you have a router between the two VLAN's and it is configured for multicast-routing.

I have a 6509 with 2 MSFC2's and I use:

mls rp vtp-domain LAW
mls rp ip

on all my Vlans I need to route multicast packets on. Keep in mind if your sending Multicast to 2 different vlans it's going to be much slower because each packet must be routed...
