I have a function in my company where we purchase a part, do a test on it and then distribute it. Since there are several thousand parts I am trying to avoid assigning new part numbers to do a work order. Is it possible to do a rework order in MAS so I can schedule the order through the system, or do I need an add on such as JOB OPS to do it?

Thanks

Can you be more clear?

You take in parts, do tests, then send the part to a third party, meaning you never own the inventory?

This sounds like a Job Cost kind of thing, but not sure.

Thanks,
ChaZ

There Are 10 Types Of People In The world:
Those That Understand BINARY And Those That Don’t.

1. Create an Item called REWORK (or anything you want to call it)
2. Open a Work Order for REWORK item
3. WO Material Issue the part you want to rework as the material for the Work Order
4. Process work order to completion
5. At the WO COMPLETION STEP; complete the part number you previously issued as "material" (not the REWORK item)
6. Close the Work Order
