Hi,

Is it possible to have Legato backup map drives? So far I've only seen it backup local drives. I'm trying to get to some of my servers' administrative shares.

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
wb

Hi,

Yes, you can back up map drives. You have to specify the whole path to it (Ie: \\xxx\d$)in the saveset field

Is there a way to backup a remote directory by referencing a remote volume's drive letter (as mapped on the NetWorker server)?

I want to mount several different remote volumes as the SAME drive letter (at different times) and backup different directories as unique savesets. I want to mount these differet volumes with the SAME drive letter so that the operator performing a recover sees all the savesets in a concatenated listing.

Thanks,

Ken Scoville

You don't mount the drives you access the data via unc pathing

example ( theses go in the save set: window )

\\ntservera\c$
\\ntserverb\c$
\\ntserverb\d$
