A customer for a school dept is requesting the following: school has an emergency, wants to put a button on a phone or some type of contact closure box which will 1) lock all doors immediately, 2) call 911 and then play a prerecorded announcement. Can this be done? and if yes how would we go about this? Gunnaro I know you are a voicemail pro expert so was thinking you might have a way voicemail pro could do this along with the phone system. As usual any help would be most appreciated

You'll need to integrate with ascom for the doors, the box.

Dyslexics Untie!

I kind of figured out that part, contact closure but the other part is the tricky stuff lol

Of course, I have made this for a customer.
Relays do the closing (there was a 12volt input on the door system), VMPro does the rest.

- calls 112 (911 here)
- emergency dispatch has to press # to hear the announcement
- absent text is activated on the reception on triggering
- ++

I'll put it here tomorrow:)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Btw, you want this feature to have several pre-defined announcements?
If this request is Sandy Hook-related, let's make it a damn good one!

Kind regards

Generally speaking, on the Door Access/Security System side, you can just use a NO/NC rely off of IPO and a free "port" on the Door Access system. From there, you will need to have the Door Access people/company program the system so that when it sees a change in the rely, it trigger's their Lock Down Mode. I don't know every Door Access system, however the one I installed in our office (very simple to be honest) has a "All/Lock Down" feature. I was told this is a pretty common feature now a days and most systems have it.

As for VMPro dialing out, I'm sure it can be done, but I'll leave that to the VMPro experts that are better at that then me.

Here you go, Emergency setup with mod's and wav's

- You need to make a User Variable "Emergency" before importing!

- Change the destination for the Post Dial-action to 911 and make sure it dials (Maybe test with your mobile number first?)

- Change the user destination for the Absent Text in both modules (to your reception).
In module "Script911", the last one should be kept as is, as it picks the CLI of the distress caller.
Remove if you don't want a feedback to that phone.

- In module "Emergency" chose if you want to terminate the distress call on completion or keep it on hold indefinitely.
For the above mentioned feedback to kick in, you need to terminate.

You may want to edit these system prompts as well:
WAVS\%loc%\OUTB_01.wav (this is an IP Office outbound call) - Attached wav "This is an Automated distress call from <School_Name>"
WAVS\%loc%\ssb_10.wav (forwarded) - I deleted that one.

There are lots of stuff you can put in here, like an email warning to the Principal office, security guards, etc, etc...

Kind regards

I would make certain that the local 911 center will take appropriate action on a pre-recorded call. In our area, they REALLY want to speak with a person before dispatch - anything automated must go via a third party monitoring center.

You can always put on a conference at the end of the Emergency and Script911, but make a warning for the dispatch about this (in case this call is supposed to be kept on the down low).

Thanks everyone for the help on this, Gunnaro I will give that a try, thanks so much!

No problem!

I take it this is meant as a measure of last resort.
Let's hope dispatch isn't too daft, ignoring such a call.

I've never tried before, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a way to create a paging into all of this. That could be useful for the dispatch, secretly listening in on the phone.

The conference idea works, btw, but there is a beep going off.

Kind regards

Gunnar
