I just inherited some parts from a Phaser 860 that no longer works. I own a Phaser 850N and I'm hoping these parts will give me at least DP capability. *BUT* I can't find these part numbers anywhere on the Xerox website so I don't know if this will work.

Part 1) 671-4188-53 - This is the main controller board from the 860. It has three empty slots, which I assume are for memory upgrades.

Part 2) 671-3994-01 - This part says it is a "PhaserShare Series B Ethernet Card"

So I have two questions. The first question is, can I use these parts, pulled from a Phaser 860, on my Phaser 850N?

The 860 this came from was not working. Owner doesn't know if it was a mechanical problem or if he fried it. If either of these parts are damaged, can I harm my printer by installing them? Of course, I can always re-install the original parts.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

The two parts you have are firstly an image processor board for the Phaser 860 (671-4188-53) which will only fit the Phaser 860 and secondly a 100baseT network card (671-3994-01) Which will fit Phasers 840/740/780. Hope this helps!

A few days ago I read this thread and someone said that they could supply me with the duplex option for my 850. That person posted their email address, but now it is gone. Whoever you are, if you read this would you please contact me, my email address is: roy /// at /// netraction /// dot /// com.

Thank you.
