Can I use RDC in Web Applications

Hi

I am using Crystal Ver 9.0. I have created reports using this and want to deploy in the web. My web application will use RDC and export the rpt the reports to PDF. My web application is not using any other functionality. In such a situtation

1) Should I Use RDC or Report Application Server?
2) What are the licensing issues involved if I use RDC?
3) Is this RDC component MTS enabled?
4) Would there be any scaling problem if RDC is used?

Hi Vinod..

You can find a lot of information in CrystalDecision.com. Search for RDC and you will get many smaple code. If you coludnt find any , give me your mail Id. I will mail you back the samples I have.

I hope you are aware of the licensing issues when this component is deployed on the web. You can only 5 concurrent users and any other concuurent user will cost you additional license..

I am actually not surprised that you have these questions. I had a conference call with several of Crystal's product managers about Web Deployment and the RDC vs the RAS and THEY weren't sure about all of the licensing issues, because they are steering everyone to do Web deployment using RAS.
