I decided to get myself a 5.1 sound system from Creative tonight. My soundcard is Sound Blaster Live! also by the same company and supports 5.1. I use my headphones just as often as I listen to music with my speakers, so I really need both.

Anyways, with my new speaker system, the jack that provides output to my headphones is used up. Can I buy a splitter cable to solve this problem. One such as this:
Anybody know if they make an "official" cable for problems such as this?

The Creative 5.1 speakers I purchased about 3 months ago came with a wired remote control that had a headphones output on the controller. Afraid I can't remember the model number (they're at home, I'm at work) but they were £49.99 (UK Sterling) from a local retail branch.

looks ok to me..i have something similar. Make sure it works for stereo otherwise you'll only get sound thru 1 speaker/ear :)

I use a Radio Shack switch designed for this. Output goes to the switch, and from the switch to the speakers. The only problem is that it is stereo only (left and right), it doesn't affect the rear channels!
