Can I use a PBX DID for a trunk line?

I am testing a Norstar DS NT5B01.
In my office I use a Mitel 200sx, with 200 DID's coming in through a PRI.

I was wondering if I could test the Norstar trunk lines by plugging in a DID from the Mitel, into the Norstar trunk port.
Would there be any issues plugging one PBX into another PBX?
This is just for testing, and it would be a lot easier than trying to find a POTS to use.

As long as the host PBX can give you an analog exts (with DID ), you can fake it as co incoming lines for Norstar for testing purpose.

I did this with Avaya Definity and BCM400 for my test lab.

The only thing is some DTFM tone testing via CCR might not work correctly.

Curlycord ~ I would like to use an analog DID from the Mitel to the Norstar trunk port.

Thanks Madwok for your response.

Not going to work. The Trunk card is going to need ring voltage, not a wink, and it's not gonna understand the DTMF tones.

Adversity is Opportunity

If the Mitel analog set voltage is close to 48v and the ring voltage gets to 90v or better it should work. An analog set has to be able to put out DTMF in order to use VM or access an auto attendant.
You may not get disconnect supervision, but as long as you are aware of the problem it should work.

Are we clear on this?

You say an analog DID from the Mitel...
I presume you mean a digital DID from the PRI but you want it to ring on the Norstar via an ATA.

Should work as I said above in that case.
