Is there a way to list the tape numbers that specific files have been saved to in NetBackup? How do I know what tapes to mount in order to restore the data from a specific day?

Hi

Not that I'm aware of, the only way i know is to start the restore and check the log file created to see what tapes are being requested to complete the restore.

If you know the client and day - USe:
bpimmedia -client <ServerName> -d <StartDate> -e <EndDate> -L

This will show you all the fragments and which tapes they were written to. I use this command when ever I have to performa restore as it simplifies everything substantially.

Nice one PGPhanton always wondered what the command was [thumbsup2]

Or you could also use the following command for listing tapes used :-
bpimagelist -media -U -d <Start_Date> -e <End_Date> -client <client_name>

Thanx & Rgdz
