Newbie Hardware - I have a Spare DS1 Card and I just wanted to know that if one of my present used/installed cards blows up, can I simply slide in the new one as a replacement? Do I need to pre-config or post-config anything or will the old card's configuration just simply see the new DS1 as the same as the old and keep on going like nothing happened?

Thanks for the help.

I beleve you can simply slip in the new card as long as it's the exact same vintage and release. There will be an outage of the DS0's but if the card is fried the T1 is OOS (Out Of Service). Once the T1 sync's up your good to go

Hope this helps

U can hot swap the lavender(purple circuit packs)on the Definity system, but as far as Ds1 circuit pack, the main thing that would make it not work if it is set up for e-1 international instead of 24 channel U.S. T-1. E-1 can be used in the U.S. in a 'campus' environment, so u might run into e-1. There is a switch on the card to change from the E-1 international standard.

Yes you can HOT SWAP but as mentioned below, the vintage may not matter as much as the card model. TN 767 for a TN 767 or a TN 464 for a TN 464. If you have to swap a TN 767 for a TN 464 or vice versa, you will need to delete the board and rebuild it.

Busyout the board, replace with same vintage, release and status signaling group (if this pack is the 464) if not status trunk group ?? and see if the members come back up.

You also need make sure that the ohms are correct for the type of connecter place on the card, and that the card is administered exactly as the previous card. Enter command display ds1 the the carrier and slot location and administer the new board to these settings.

Thanks all for the help, by the way I should have said I have a G3V11 and the cards are both TN 464F, sorry about that, thanks all again.

If you dont busy out and then release the board. It will not come back up.
