Can I display an image using an IP address as the src?

Hi,

My website has a fixed IP address, is it possible to use the IP address to reference images within my HTML pages rather than the website name?

ie, can I say:
<img src=&quot;instead of
<img src=&quot;http:
If it is possible, how do I do it? I've tried the idea above but just get an empty 'image not found' placeholder.

What you've done should not be a problem. After all, that's what a DNS server does.

If you're having difficulties, the only thing I can think of is a path problem. For example, I have several aliases for my website. When I ping each alias, I get the same IP address each time. Obviously, each alias points to a different subdirectory under that IP address.

Would your problem be something similar? Perhaps you need to write something like:
