I have a CS1K rls 7.5 with a SIP signaling server trying to integrate an Iphone app server. I can't call from the desk phones to the Iphones because the vendor support tech is saying that I am sending them the option of a-law and Mu-law but they can't ignore the a-law option and need it turned off. So far we have cleared the SIP URI UDP and CDP fields because they can't ignore that either.

I printed the System Parms in 22 and for PCML it is set to MU. I'm at a loss here and looking for some suggestions.
Also, when I call from a 2616 to an 1140 and trace it, in the MEDIA PROFILE it shows that it is connecting using MU-LAW.

All your supported codecs are configured in your VoIP node via element manager. You can edit your node and remove the codecs you don't want to support there. I do not use the a-law codecs, and have had them disabled for years with no ill effect.

So i went into the VGW and Codecs section and it only will allow me to either use or not use G.711, I don't see anywhere I can turn off just a-law or mu-law. This is release 7.5 if that makes a difference.

I'm sorry, I guess I should be saying "I need to use u-law" not mu-law.

Can you post the fix for others? Instead of just saying it was figured out.

In element manager if you click on 'Peripheral Equipment' in the System tree, you can select either A-Law or Mu-Law at the top of the page.
