Hi all,
What I want to do is simple, I think. I'm new to Visio and it's frustrating because it seems like visio wants to control everything and make the flow for me.

I want to draw a flow line from one box to another. I don't care if it's 'dynamic' or whatever, though I would prefer each end to stay put in the box in which I put each end as I move the box, but I'd even be willing to give that up if it would just let me control the path of the line itself between boxes.

I want to define the path, yet I want to be able to move it in the future if necessary. It just seems like something that should be part of Visio and I can't find it.

For example, I want to start by clicking in Box1--this is the start of the flow line. Then I want to move the mouse, say, 3 grid-squares to the right, then click and lock that point. Then move the mouse 3 squares down, click and lock that point--now I have a right-angle line. Then maybe go 3 squares left, then down again, and so on until I come to Box2. At Box2 I'd like to click there and have the arrow end of the line terminate there. Period.

I don't want the 'help' that Visio gives by trying to guess the best path. I know the path I want and I'd like to define it. I'd like these angle points to stay put no matter where I move the boxes in the future--only the last line-segment will move when the box moves, and I'll take responsibility for making sure the lines are neat.

Is this possible in Visio?
Thanks,
--Jim

Use the standard connectors in the stencil page, you can then define the exact paths you wish to use
