I would like to take a very small SQL Server 7 database
home to restore on my PC there, where I also have SQL
Server installed.....

Is it even possible to save/copy the db to diskette
within SQL Server Enterprise Manager or other means ?

Thanks for any ideas. John

John,

The best bet is probably to use Backup/Restore.

From SQL EM, Take "Backup Database", and backup the database to a file (simply specify a detination file to send the DB to). After backing up, ZIP the file, and with a bit of luck it will fit onto a diskette.

When restoring the DB, use Enterprise Mgr again... Take the "restore Database" option, and specify "From device", and choose your file. You may need to use the "with move" options under the options tab, to make sure the DB files are sent to a proper location.

Regards,
Chris
