I have some formulas that run totals on differences in data. I need to create a bar or pie chart showing what percentage each individual total is of the whole. Can I do this? [sig][/sig]

Each bar/slice is a different subtotal or grand total?
I assume that these totals sit side by side, and are not for subsequent groups of the report.

I realize that it's been a while since the last response to this one, but if any Crystallite is really bored they can tackle this one 
I have a similar question about creating a bar chart based on formula fields:
I have a report (CR 8.5 using ODBC) that contains a subreport for each detail of the main report. The subreport performs a query, determines the maximum value of a number field and returns the value as a shared variable to the main report. This shared variable is then used in a formula in a subsequent detail to provide the desired calculated value. My intent is to create a chart based on this calculated value (or sum of this value for a group) based upon the change in each main report detail. I'm not sure how much sense this makes, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Can't chart using a values that come from subreports. These are "whilePrinting" values and you need a "WhileReading" for charting.
Any chance you can structure using a direct link instead of a subreport for every detail? No guarantee, but at least you have a chance, then. Ken Hamady

Doh! I was afraid it had to do with the evaluation time of the subreports. I initially tried to do direct-linking for my first attempt, but with the number of tables involved (8) it ended up being too restrictive. Because of this I created a query in the SQL Designer to link two of the tables and then based my main report on this query. The subreports were then added in the detail section to pull in and sum information from the other tables. This would have been the perfect job for a stored procedure, except Crystal doesn't recognize my RDBMS (Progress :-()procedure files. Oh well! Grouped data without charts might have to suffice. Thanks for the response Ken!
