I've asked this one before, but didn't get it solved. I am receiving LOADS of unwanted spam, usually from one or two particular *******.com address's. I can block individual e mail address's easily in Outlook Express, but can I block ALL e mails coming from the same domain name. For example, any e mails from blahblah.com ?

Please remember, I HAVE OUTLOOK EXPRESS, Not Outlook

Cheers

What Yizar stated is exactly how I handle this in OE. When adding to the block senders list just add the domain name and not the whole e-mail address. Of course lots of these spammers like to tweak their domain names just so it is slightly changed to get around this. joegz

MailWasher is a powerful email checker with effective spam
elimination . Discover the safe way to stop unwanted viruses and emails before they get to your computer .
Why not make them think you no longer exist by bouncing back their email so it looks like your address has been closed down .

Nice one. Sorted now thanks.

How would you bounce them back ?

Each message that comes in , you can tick the bounce box Or Right click on the message to get all the options .
Some email you can't blacklist all the domains & you may be able to bouce or use the delete option . It will let you know , what it can't do .

Good luck . John in Western Australia .

John,
I don't know of a "bounce box" from within my Outlook Express. When I right click on any message, I only get the following options :-

Hmmm, mailwasher might seem like a good idea but most of these spammers are using ficticious return addresses. Sometimes these addresses look real but the domain doesn't actually exist. Other times they use real domains - hotmail type addresses are popular. I got caught out with the second alternative - some spammer used a whole stack of ficticious usernames with my domain as the reply or from or remove address. Consequently, as I pick up all mail to my domain which is not redirected to a mailbox (in other words, mispellings, etc) I got bombarded with hundreds of emails from people trying to get off the spammer's lists and hundreds more of "returned" or "undeliverable" mail. It took me several days to filter out the 30 or so different ficticious names so that this mail could be rejected at the ISP end. So the spammer never finds out how many thousands of undelivered or rejected emails there were.

I have had a couple of little wins though. One spammer gave enough information for me to get him blacklisted by his own ISP and another 2 got themselves dumped as affiliates because they'd contravened the rules. Very gratifying!
