We are looking at backing up our Microsoft Small Business Server to CD/DVD, is this an option or are we better off using a Tape Unit?

Thanks

Tony

Depeding on how much data you have, you can do this. Use your backup utility to back up to a file then simply burn it. If you don't know where the backup is: Start-> Programs-> Accesories-> System Tools-> Backup. Hope that helps! Matt Wray

Do you think that could get a bit messy? I would like to schedule backups nightly with little human intervention as possible.

Now that might give you a little more trouble. Is your software capable of being set up to burn automagically? Matt Wray

I use BackUp Now and backup nightly to a CD. Just be careful which CD Burner you buy. The software is picky about the Mfg and Model of the burner. The manual that comes witht he burner does not tell, you will need to look at their website.

It does not support backing up straight to CD, but as above you CAN back up to a .bkf file and then burn that file...
