Hello,

Can I assign a cash drawer on a specific workstation 5 terminal to an employee, so that they can only open up the cash drawer on that terminal and no others? I am asking this question, because currently any employee that is assigned cash drawer 1 can open up cash drawer 1 on any of my four workstation 5 terminals, however, I do not want this to happen as to avoid one employee using another employees drawer to cash out a check.

For example, up at my bar I want only my bartender to be able to open cash drawer 1 on the bar workstation and only one of my servers to be able to open up cash drawer 2 and no other servers or employees can open up those drawers, unless I change the drawer assignment and assign a specific cash drawer on the bar workstation to them.

Does anyone know how to program the Micros 3700 POS to do this, if this can even be done? I need to know what settings do I change in the POS configurator.

In an earlier question I asked, I was told how to add cash drawer assignment touchscreen buttons, but no further programming details were given on how to lock that assignment down to a specific terminal, because at the time I was not inquiring about that function, I was just inquiring about how to change cash drawer assignment on the fly, however, I now realize that I need the additional functionality if it's available.

Thank you,

No I do not think I have the cash management option installed. I can find no icons for it and don't see any buttons for it in the POS configurator. Where would it be located?

Thank you,

Another work around would be to use cash management and configure it properly. The No Sale button is a feature for a Cashier environment. In POS Cfg | Employees | Employee Classes | for the particular employee class | Cash Management tab | General Options tab make sure the Accounting method is defined as "Cashiering". Now in touchscreen designer you must program two keys: One for Assign Employee to till and the other Assign till to UWS>

Assign the cash drawer to a "Cashier" and create a cashier in the system for each employee. Link the cashier to the correct employee.

There are some settings in UWS to assign the cash drawer, check those.
